Boen Zhang
I am an Assistant Professor of Hydroclimatology in the School of Geography and Planning at Sun Yat-sen University and the PI of the Hydroclimate Extremes Lab.
My research studies how floods, extreme precipitation, droughts, heatwaves, and compound hydroclimate events are changing in a warming climate. I combine climate observations, model simulations, hydrological modelling, machine learning, and probabilistic approaches to improve prediction and assess future climate risk.
The Hydroclimate Extremes Lab is growing. We welcome students and researchers interested in hydroclimate extremes, flood prediction, compound events, climate risk, GIS, remote sensing, machine learning, and environmental data science.
